چکیده

In this paper, multiuser detectors for a synchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) channel are adopted for detecting a spread spectrum signal in the presence of a digitally modulated narrowband interference (NBI). The bit error probability of a decorrelating detector is independent of the ratio of the power of a digitally modulated NBI signal to that of a spread spectrum signal but not independent of the time offset between two signals. A decorrelating decision feedback detector achieves the bit error probability which is independent of both the power ratio and the time offset between two signals in the regions of practical interest where the power of the NBI is greater than that of the spread spectrum signal. The bit error probability of a decorrelating decision feedback detector is lower than that of a decorrelating detector and coincides with an optimum single user bound in the regions of practical interest.

A convex projections method for improved narrow-band interference rejection in direct-sequence spread-spectrum systems

A method is presented for enhancing the narrowband interference rejection capability of direct-sequence spread-spectrum systems employing an adaptive notch filter. The method, based on projection onto convex sets, restores that part of the spread-spectrum signal distorted by the filter. Simulation results are presented which show the output bit-error rate (BER) improvement gained by using the s...

Multiuser detection techniques for narrowband interference suppression in spread spectrum communications

| Due to the scarcity of frequency allocations for emerging personal communications services, it has been proposed that spread spectrum (SS) signals be used in such services so that they can be overlaid on existing frequency band occupants. Such SS signals would be constrained in power so as not to interfere with pre-existing, narrowband users. In view of this application, suppression of strong...
